Company XIV mounted the first production of "Nutcracker Rouge," its annual holiday spectacular, 10 years ago in a warehouse in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
Since then the company has presented the sold-out smash in multiple venues including Minetta Lane Theater and Theatre XIV, their current home in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
The pandemic foiled the company's plans to mount a 10th-anniversary production of Nutcracker Rouge. With live entertainment stalled in New York City for the foreseeable future, Company XIV will stream excerpts from Nutcracker Rouge for patrons to view online.
The company recorded 8 brand new and signature acts at Theatre XIV, the first premieres on Thanksgiving Day. Subsequent acts featuring circus, singing, and sultry burlesque will be released weekly through New Year's Eve.
